Melissa Gorzelanczyk (ARROWS) AND Liza Wiemer (HELLO?) will focus on ACCESS FOR ALL at #WEMTA17 by addressing how YA novels provide an outlet to explore topics such as diversity, family dynamics, relationships, sexuality including the LGBTQ community, kindness, compassion, coping with loss, grief, and mental health issues. The authors will give educators and librarians specific tools and ideas to help students discover new books based on key words, hashtags, social media outlets. Suggestions for displays will also be provided that could be utilized in school libraries and classrooms.
